High-Pressure, High-Temperature Thread Compound for Casing, Tubing, and Line Pipe
BESTOLIFE® 72733 is a high-performance metallic thread compound designed for casing, tubing, and line pipe applications. It exceeds the standards of API RP 5A3*, ISO 13678, and the obsolete BUL 5A2, offering enhanced protection and reliability in extreme drilling environments.
Formulated with a specialized corrosion inhibitor, BESTOLIFE 72733 provides superior corrosion resistance compared to API Modified compounds. It protects connections against galling during makeup and breakout, prevents leakage at temperatures exceeding 300°F, and withstands pressures up to 10,000 psi. The compound resists water absorption, disintegration, and volume changes, and will not harden, dry out, evaporate, or oxidize.
It conforms to rigorous performance tests including evaporation, gas evolution, oil separation, water leaching, copper corrosion, and cold application at 19.4°F (–7°C). Salt spray corrosion protection is rated at 900 hours, ensuring long-term durability in both field use and storage.
