BESTOLIFE® CSSB is a non-lead, non-zinc copper-based thread compound formulated for rotary-shouldered connections. It applies easily across a wide range of temperatures and conditions, resists washout, and maintains stability in storage without hardening or bleeding excessively.
CSSB is designed for high-temperature drilling applications and is recommended for drill collars, drill pipe, and rotary-shouldered connections. It is also effective for use on open gear jack-up legs. In addition to providing galling and seizing protection through its solid content, CSSB includes a soluble extreme pressure package that is surface-active, enhancing load-carrying capability under high bearing stresses.
For optimal performance, BESTOLIFE recommends applying 10–15% additional torque beyond the minimum values specified in API and IADC tables for drill collars and drill pipe when using BESTOLIFE copper compounds.
